Horrible timing for me on this one. Bought on the 12th.
The news on the 16th and 17th crushed my trading strategy, blowing right through my mental stop loss levels. A quick note I will say though, I did not think the news on Thursday was too bad; it demonstrated the active management's efforts to drive growth.
Reduced my position size by 58% today. I the goal here was for protection. Nike is good for the long run, no need to completely lock in a 6.5% loss. But none the less, capital preservation is my number one priority which is why I chose to trim my position. I sold around 9:50am. I was not sure if it would continue to go down, was not sure what to expect with the timing of everything. This is uncharted waters for me, I have never had such a gap occur in a trade of mine before. This time I actually knew the news and had to react. Looking back on prior events on the chart: I don't know the reason for the gap, I can just see what happened after. In high sight I should have expected "efficient market theory" to of have taken place on a downgrade and that the floor was probably in...
The lose of the money itself does not bother me, my position was merely 1K worth, i had just dipped my toes in to test the waters. What does bother me is that I was wrong. Consistence is my objective and my trading plan was completely crushed on this one.

remember...the lower it moves the lower downside risk you have...you knew there was no reason for negative moves on the news that released. Use your head. Be your own trader.
