RSI, SRSI, MACD and DMI cross - Open source codeHello,
I'm a passionate trader who has spent years studying technical analysis and exploring different trading strategies. Through my research, I've come to realize that certain indicators are essential tools for conducting accurate market analysis and identifying profitable trading opportunities. In particular, I've found that the RSI, SRSI, MACD cross, and Di cross indicators are crucial for my trading success.
Detailed explanation:
The RSI is a momentum indicator that measures the strength of price movements. It is calculated by comparing the average of gains and losses over a certain period of time. In this indicator, the RSI is calculated based on the close price with a length of 14 periods.
The Stochastic RSI is a combination of the Stochastic Oscillator and the RSI. It is used to identify overbought and oversold conditions of the market. In this indicator, the Stochastic RSI is calculated based on the RSI with a length of 14 periods.
The MACD is a trend-following momentum indicator that shows the relationship between two moving averages of prices. It consists of two lines, the MACD line and the signal line, which are used to generate buy and sell signals. In this indicator, the MACD is calculated based on the close price with fast and slow lengths of 12 and 26 periods, respectively, and a signal length of 9 periods.
The DMI is a trend-following indicator that measures the strength of directional movement in the market. It consists of three lines, the Positive Directional Indicator (+DI), the Negative Directional Indicator (-DI), and the Average Directional Index (ADX), which are used to generate buy and sell signals. In this indicator, the DMI is calculated with a length of 14 periods and an ADX smoothing of 14 periods.
The indicator generates buy signals when certain conditions are met for each of these indicators.
1) For the RSI, a buy signal is generated when the RSI is below or equal to 35 and the Stochastic RSI %K is below or equal to 15, or when the RSI is below or equal to 28 the Stochastic RSI %K is below or equal to 15 or when the RSI is below or equal to 25 and the Stochastic RSI %K is below or equal to 10 or when the RSI is below or equal to 28.
2) For the MACD, a buy signal is generated when the MACD line is below 0, there is a change in the histogram from negative to positive, the MACD line and histogram are negative in the previous period, and the current histogram value is greater than 0.
3) For the DMI, a buy signal is generated when the Positive Directional Indicator (+DI) crosses above the Negative Directional Indicator (-DI), and the -DI is less than the +DI.
The indicator generates sell signals when certain conditions are met for each of these indicators:
1) For the RSI, a sell signal is generated when the RSI is above or equal to 75 and the Stochastic RSI %K is above or equal to 85, or when the RSI is above or equal to 80 and the Stochastic RSI %K is above or equal to 85, or when the RSI is above or equal to 85 and the Stochastic RSI %K is above or equal to 90 or when the RSI is above or equal to 82.
2)For the MACD, a sell signal is generated when the MACD line is above 0, there is a change in the histogram from positive to negative, the MACD line and histogram are positive in the previous period, and the current histogram value is less than the previous histogram value. On the other hand, a buy signal is generated when the MACD line is below 0, there is a change in the histogram from negative to positive, the MACD line and histogram are negative in the previous period, and the current histogram value is greater than the previous histogram value.
3)For the DMI a bearish signal is generated when plusDI crosses above minusDI, indicating that bulls are losing strength and bears are taking control.
The indicator uses a combination of these four indicators to generate potential buy and sell signals. The buy signals are generated when RSI and SRSI values are in oversold conditions, while sell signals are generated when RSI and SRSI values are in overbought conditions. The indicator also uses MACD crossovers and DMI crossovers to generate additional buy and sell signals.
When a signal is strong?
The use of multiple signals within a specific timeframe can increase the accuracy and reliability of the signals generated by this indicator. It is recommended to look for at least two signals within a range of 5-8 candles in order to increase the probability of a successful trade.
Why it's original?
1) There is no indicator in the library that combine all of these indicators and give you a 360 view
2)The combination of the RSI, Stochastic RSI, MACD, and DMI indicators in a single script it's unique and not available in the libray.
3)The specific parameters and conditions used to calculate the signals may be unique and not found in other scripts or libraries.
4)The use of plotshape() to plot the signals as shapes on the chart may be unique compared to other scripts that simply plot lines or bars to indicate signals.
5)The use of alertcondition() to trigger alerts based on the signals may be unique compared to other scripts that do not have custom alert functionality.
Keep attention!
It is important to note that no trading indicator or strategy is foolproof, and there is always a risk of losses in trading. While this indicator may provide useful information for making conclusions, it should not be used as the sole basis for making trading decisions. Traders should always use proper risk management techniques and consider multiple factors when making trading decisions.

[CP]Pivot Boss Multi Timeframe CPR Inception with MACD and EMAINTRODUCTION:
This indicator combines multi-timeframe CPR bands with MACD Momentum and EMA trend, all projected on the candlestick chart through a novel visualization.
If you have seen my other indicators on TradingView, you would know that I use floor pivots a lot and “Secrets of a Pivot Boss” is my favorite book. While using floor pivots, time and again I have noticed an interesting price behavior,
Trending moves in price typically start from around the Central Pivot Range (CPR). The CPR could be from ANY timeframe. These moves can easily be caught using simple momentum and trend indicators like MACD and EMA crossovers.
Yes, it is that simple. Follow along to understand how to use this indicator.
INDICATOR SETTINGS:
RANGEBOUND MACD AND EMA MARKINGS:
TradingView limits the max number of labels that can be shown on a chart to 500. Therefore, if you go far back enough, you won't see any markings for the MACD or EMA setups. If you are looking to test the efficacy of this indicator in the past, change the start and end dates to your desired timeframe and then select the ‘Mark MACD and EMA Setups in Range?’ option.
MULTI TIMEFRAME CENTRAL PIVOT RANGE:
Here you can select CPRs and their bands from which timeframes are shown on the chart. I will share my favorite settings later in this description.
CPR CONFIGURATION:
Show CPR Labels: CPRs markings can carry labels, so that you don’t confuse between which line is what. Use this setting to toggle them On/Off.
Show Next Time Period Pivots: Check this option if you want to see the CPR of the next time period. This is typically done to figure out the ’Two Day CPR Relationship’ . Read the book, “Secrets of a Pivot Boss”, to understand more.
EMA TREND:
Show EMA on the Chart: EMAs will be plotted on the chart. Standard stuff.
Mark EMA Crossovers on Chart: EMA crossovers will be marked on the chart in diamond shapes. If you are using EMA crossovers, I recommend setting this option to True.
Rest of the EMA settings are fairly obvious.
MACD MOMENTUM:
Projecting MACD parameters directly on the candlesticks is surely going to give you a new perspective about price action and MACD.
Also, in order to better understand the MACD projections on the chart, you can add a standard MACD indicator on the chart with default settings to figure out what my indicator is actually showing you.
Marking MACD Crossovers on Chart: Marks the MACD signal crossovers on the chart. This visualization was a game changer for me.
Show MACD Histogram on Chart: Projects the complete MACD Histogram in a novel fashion (Try it!). You will be able to visually see the ebbs and flow of momentum in the charts.
Mark MACD Histogram Peaks on Chart: Marks only the MACD peaks instead of the complete histogram. Peaks are a great way to enter an ongoing trend and to play an intraday rangebound market.
Rest of the settings are just the standard settings that you will find in a typical MACD indicator.
ALERTS:
Not shown in the settings panel, but I have added alerts for EMA and MACD Crossovers so that you don’t have to sit in front of the charts or constantly check the price all day long.
If you don’t know how to set alerts in TradingView, then please Google it.
INDICATOR USAGE EXAMPLES:
This indicator can be used in intraday as well as in higher timeframes.
There are quite a few variations possible, I personally prefer to use the EMA crossovers in intraday (5m) and MACD on Daily timeframes.
This is just a matter of personal preference, some people might prefer using EMAs only or MACD only in all timeframes.
Here are my personal settings for the intraday 5-minute timeframe:
Turn on all the CPR pivots starting from Yearly all the way to Daily. You can turn on 6 hourly and 4 hourly as well if you want.
Hourly CPR is mostly used when the price is in a strong trend and you missed the entry and don’t know when to enter. Price will typically experience pullbacks towards the Hourly CPR, before resuming in the direction of the trend. That is your chance to hop onto the bandwagon.
For Intraday, I keep the Bands off. Just a personal preference here.
You can turn ON the Show CPR Labels , if you want.
Turn ON both the options in the EMA TREND section. You would want to see the EMA crossovers marked on the chart as well as the EMAs themselves, as the distance between the two EMAs will give you an idea about the strength of the trend.
Keep rest of the settings in the EMA section as default (you can change the colors if you wish). I keep the same EMAs as the ones kept in the MACD indicator. I like to keep things simple.
In the MACD MOMENTUM section, turn ON Mark MACD Histogram Peaks on Chart and all the other options turned OFF. Leave the other settings as default. By the way, these are the default settings of the standard MACD Indicator.
You can set up EMA Bullcross and Bearcross alarms if you like.
Before checking out the examples, remember one super simple rule:
SOME OF THE BEST TRENDING MOVES IN THE MARKET, BE IT INTRADAY OR OTHERWISE, ORIGINATE IN THE VICINITY OF A LARGER TIMEFRAME PIVOT/CPR.
Look for price settling above/below a pivot, and then a move away from the pivot in any direction is typically a trending move.
You can use hourly pivots or MACD Histogram peaks marked on the chart to enter an existing trend, or add to your positions.
Let’s have a look at a few recent intraday examples from the Crypto, Indian, and US equity markets.
I have added my comments in the charts to make you easily understand what is going on.
Understand that both, moving average crossover and MACD, will give out a lot of signals (chop) every day. But almost 70% of them are going to be fake signals. It is the signals that you get when the price is near a Pivot, that tend to convert into gorgeous trending moves that last.
BTC 5m Charts
NIFTY Futures 5m Charts (good intraday trends are hard to find here, as the market is very efficient)
TSLA 5m Charts
Some important points for using this indicator in higher timeframes:
For higher timeframes, my personal preference is to go with the MACD indicator. I personally find MACD to be lethal on daily and weekly timeframes, if you know how to use it well.
The default settings of the indicator are the settings I use for both, Daily and Weekly, timeframes. Additionally, I turn off the CPR labels.
In theory large trending moves still have a big probability to start near an important pivot level, however, in larger timeframes, trending moves can start from anywhere. They need not start in the vicinity of any important pivot (but they often do!).
Weekly pivots can act as great pullback levels when the price is in strong momentum, when trading on the daily timeframe.
Quarterly Pivots act as great pullback levels when the price is in strong momentum, when trading on the weekly timeframe.

FINAL WORDS:
Please understand that I have Cherry Picked the examples to showcase the capability of the indicator and its usage.
DO NOT conflate the accuracy of examples with the accuracy of this indicator.
Biggest catch is the fact that this indicator, like every other indicator out there, will have whipsaws. Some I have also marked in the example charts.
You need to come up with your own technique to avoid whipsaws, one technique I have shared here…… big moves typically start near pivots.
Work on avoiding whipsaws and finding you own edge in the markets.
If you really want to learn how to use Pivots, read the book ’Secrets of a Pivot Boss’ . This book can change your life.
Adaptive MACD [LuxAlgo]The Adaptive MACD indicator is an adaptive version of the popular Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) oscillator, returning longer-term variations during trending markets and cyclic variations during ranging markets while filtering out noisy variations.
🔶 USAGE
The proposed oscillator contains all the elements within a regular MACD, such as a signal line and histogram. A MACD value above 0 would indicate up-trending variations, while a value under 0 would be indicating down-trending variations.
Just like most oscillators, our proposed Adaptive MACD is able to return divergences with the price.
As we can see in the image above ranging markets will make the Adaptive MACD more conservative toward more cyclical conservations, filtering out both noise and longer-term variations. However, when longer-term variations (such as in a trending market) are prominent the oscillator will conserve longer-term variations.
The R2 Period setting determines when trending/ranging markets are detected, with higher values returning indications for longer intervals.
The fast and slow settings will act similarly to the regular MACD, however, closer values will return more cyclical outputs.
The image above compares our proposed MACD (top) with a regular MACD (bottom), both using fast = 19 and slow = 20 .
🔶 DETAILS
It is common to be solely interested in the trend component when the market is trending, however, during a ranging market it is more common to observe a more prominent cyclical/noise component. We want to be able to preserve one of the components at the appropriate market conditions, however, the regular MACD lack the ability to preserve cyclical component with high accuracy.
The MACD is an IIR bandpass filter. In order to obtain a lower passband bandwidth and a more symmetrical magnitude response (which would allow to conserve more precise cyclical variations) we can directly change the system calculation:
y = (price - price ) × g + ((1 - a1) + (1 - a2)) × y - (1 - a1) × (1 - a2) × y
where:
a1 = 2/(fast + 1)
a2 = 2/(slow + 1)
g = a1 - a2
Using division instead of multiplication on the second feedback weight allows further weighting the 2 samples lagged output, returning a more desirable magnitude response with a higher degree of filtering on both ends of the spectrum as shown in the image below:
We are interested in conserving cycles during ranging markets, and longer-term variations during trending markets, we can do this by interpolating between our two filter coefficients:
α × + (1 - α) ×
where 1 > α > 0 . α is measuring if the market is trending or ranging, with values closer to 1 indicating a trending market. We see that for higher values of α the original coefficient of the MACD is used. The image below shows various magnitude responses given multiple values of α :
We use a rolling R-Squared as α , this measurement has the benefit of indicating if the market is trending or ranging, as well as being constrained within range (0, 1), and having a U-shaped distribution.
If you are interested to learn more about the MACD see:
🔶 SETTINGS
R2 Period: Calculation window of the R-Squared.
Fast: Fast period for the calculation of the Adaptive MACD, lower values will return more noisy results.
Slow: Slow period for the calculation of the Adaptive MACD, higher values will return result with longer-term conserved variations.
Signal: Period of the EMA applied to the Adaptive MACD.
Standardized MACD Heikin-Ashi TransformedThe Standardized MACD Heikin-Ashi Transformed (St. MACD) is an advanced indicator designed to overcome the limitations of the traditional MACD. It offers a more robust and standardized measure of momentum, making it comparable across different timeframes and securities. By incorporating the Heikin-Ashi transformation, the St. MACD provides a smoother visualization of trends and potential reversals, enhancing its utility for traders seeking a clearer view of the underlying market direction.
Methodology:
The calculation of St. MACD begins with the traditional MACD, which computes the difference between two exponential moving averages (EMAs) of the price. To address the issue of non-comparability across assets, the St. MACD normalizes its values using the exponential average of the price's height. This normalization process ensures that the indicator's readings are not influenced by the absolute price levels, allowing for objective and quantitatively defined comparisons of momentum strength.
Furthermore, St. MACD utilizes the Heikin-Ashi transformation, which involves deriving candles from the price data. These Heikin-Ashi candles provide a smoother representation of trends and help filter out noise in the market. A predictive curve of Heikin-Ashi candles within the St. MACD turns blue or red, indicating the prevailing trend direction. This feature enables traders to easily identify trend shifts and make better informed trading decisions.
Advantages:
St. MACD offers several key advantages over the traditional MACD-
Standardization: By normalizing the indicator's values, St. MACD becomes comparable across different assets and timeframes. This makes it a valuable tool for traders analyzing various markets and seeking consistent momentum measurements.
Heikin-Ashi Transformation: The integration of the Heikin-Ashi transformation smoothes out the indicator's fluctuations and enhances trend visibility. Traders can more easily identify trends and potential reversal points, improving their market analysis.
Quantifiable Momentum: St. MACD's key levels represent the strength of momentum, providing traders with a quantifiable framework to gauge the intensity of market movements. This feature helps identify periods of increased or decreased momentum.
Utility:
The St. MACD indicator offers versatile utility for traders-
Trend Identification: Traders can use the color-coded predictive curve of Heikin-Ashi candles to swiftly determine the prevailing trend direction. This aids in identifying potential entry and exit points in the market.
Reversal Signals: Colored extremes within the St. MACD signal potential price reversals, alerting traders to potential turning points in the market. This assists in making timely decisions during market inflection points.
Overbought/Oversold Conditions: The histogram version of St. MACD can be used in conjunction with the bands to detect short-term overbought or oversold market conditions, allowing traders to adjust their strategies accordingly.
In conclusion, this tool addresses the limitations of the traditional MACD by providing a standardized and comparable momentum indicator. Its incorporation of the Heikin-Ashi transformation enhances trend visibility and assists traders in making more informed decisions. With its quantifiable momentum measurements and various utility features, the St. MACD is a valuable tool for traders seeking a clearer and more objective view of market trends and reversals.

EVWMA is a quite interesting moving average where the period of the MA is defined from the volume itself.
It incorporates volume information in a natural and logical way. The EVWMA can be looked at as an approximation to the average price paid per share.
As a volume period, you can use sum of the last x bars volumes.

ESTOCÁSTICO + NORMALIZED MACD=== INTRO ===
This is a 2 in 1 indicator, STOCHASTIC + NORMALIZED MACD.
I release this script as public because both stochastic and normalized macd are public, so I cannot find any reason to post it as private :)
=== USAGE ===
You can use any of the indicators by itself as usual, stochastic as a oversold/overbought indicator as a momentum/trend indicator.
Usually, crossovers are used for LONG/SHORT entries.
I added dots for crossovers as well as background colors to show movement direction when both indicators agree: green = bullish, red = bearish and orange = range/consolidation.
=== SETTINGS ===
Default settings for both indicators have been changed (but they're of course configurable), to make them work better together.
You can also change NMACD moving average time to SMA or WMA instead of SMA, SMA is really slow for me but give it a try, WMA is more aggressive.
=== RECOMMENDATIONS ===
Always look for higher timeframes, for example, if you're trading 1h, don't try to catch a 1H "ALL GREEN" LONG while 4H is "ALL RED" because otherwise you're just "trying" to catch a bounce in the 1H chart that could never happen, always trade with the main trend.
Try to catch both crossovers in the opposite area, ex: try to LONG when both indicators are below 50 and SHORT above.
I did not test divergences on this indicator, as the MACD is normalized i prefer to use a standard MACD for that, but you can use the stochastic for sure.
MACD-ASHello All,
This the script for Moving Average Convergence Divergence – MACD of Thomas Aspray, and called as MACD-AS and you may get earlier signals than MACD.
As MACD and MACD-AS are trend following indicators, they do not function well in sideway markets.
An example how it gets earlier signals than MACD
Good luck!
Customizable MACD (how to detect a strong convergence)Helloooo traders
I wondered once if a MACD was based on an EMA/EMA/SMA or SMA/SMA/EMA (or WHATEVA/WHATEVA/WHATEVA).
Seems they're so many alternatives out there.
I decided to empower my audience more by choosing the type of moving averages you want for your MACD.
More options doesn't always mean better performance - but who knows - some might find a config that they like with it for their favorite asset/timeframe.
I added also a multi-timeframe component because I'm a nice guy ^^
Convergence is my BEST friend
An oscillator (like MACD) is to measure how strong a momentum is - generally, traders use those indicators to confirm a trend.
So understand that a MACD (or any other indicator not based on convergence ) won't likely be sufficient for doing great on the market.
Combined with your favorite indicator, however, you may get great results.
My indicators fav cocktail is mixing :
1) an oscillator (momentum confirmation)
2) a trendline/key level break (momentum confirmation)
3) adding-up on a different trading method but still converging with the first entry.
The reason I'm deep with convergence detection is because I'm obsessed with removing those fakeout signals. You know which ones I'm talking about :)
Those trades when the market goes sideways but our capital goes South (pun 100% intended) - 2 days later, the price hasn't changed much but some lost some capital due to fees, being overexposed, buying the top/selling the bottom of a range they didn't identify.
It's publicly known that ranges are the worst traders' enemy. It's boring, not fun, and .... end up moving in the direction we expected when we go to sleep or outside.
NO ONE/BROKER/EX-GF is tracking your computer - I checked also for mine as it happened for me way too often in the past.
I surely preferred blaming a few external unknown conditions than improving my TA back in the days #bad #dave
But my backtest sir...
Our backtests show what they're being told to show . A backtest without a stop-loss/hard exit logic will show incredible results.
Then trying that backtest with live trading is like in the Matrix movie - discovering the real world is tough and we must choose between the blue pill (learning how to evaluate properly risk/opportunity caught) and the red pill (increasing the position sizing, not setting a stop loss, holding the positions hoping for the best)
Last few words
Convergences aren't invented because it's cool to mix indicators with others. (it is actually and even fun)
They're created to remove most of the fakeouts . For those that can't be removed - a strong risk management would cut most of the remaining potential big losses.
No system works 100% of the time - so a convergence system needs a back-up plan in case the converged signal is wrong (could be stop-loss, hard exit, reducing position sizing, ...)
Wishing you the BEST and happy beginning of your week
Daveatt
MACD Histogram/AreaIt´s just the histogram of the MACD. (Actually it´s not a histogram, I like the Area visualisation more. But you can switch.)
When I´m using the MACD, I´m just searching for a divergence between Price and the MACD-histogram. I´m not interested in the MACD-signalline or the MACD-line in any way. As you can see, The omission of them leads to better visualisation. It´s much easier to spot a divergence. On the one hand because that way the histogram scales bigger, on the other hand becauce the lines can´t overdraw the histogram.
Rules bullish Divergence: Price makes a lower low, oscillator makes higher low.
Rules bearish Divergence: Price makes a higher high, oscillator makes lower high.
Heatmap MACD StrategyHello traders
A customer gave me the idea indirectly after I made an update to that script:
Supertrend MTF Heatmap
Important Notes
The backtest results aren't relevant for this educational script publication.
I used realistic backtesting data but didn't look too much into optimizing the results, as this isn't the point of why I'm publishing this script.
I wanted to showcase that any Heatmap script can be converted into a strategy.
The strategy default settings are:
Initial Capital: 100000 USD
Position Size: 1 contract
Commission Percent: 0.075%
Slippage: 1 tick
No margin/leverage used
For example, those are realistic settings for trading CFD indices with low timeframes, but not the best possible settings for all assets/timeframes.
Concept
The Heatmap MACD Strategy allows selecting one MACD in five different timeframes.
You'll get an exit signal whenever one of the 5 MACDs changes direction.
Then, the strategy re-enters whenever all the MACDs are in the same direction again.
It takes:
long trades when all the 5 MACD histograms are bullish
short trades when all the 5 MACD histograms are bearish
You can select the same timeframe multiple times if you don't need five timeframes.
For example, if you only need the 30min, the 1H, and 2H, you can set your timeframes as follow:
30m
30m
30m
1H
2H
Risk Management Features
Nothing too fancy
All the features below are pips-based
Stop-Loss
Trailing Stop-Loss
Stop-Loss to Breakeven after a certain amount of pips has been reached
Take Profit 1st level and closing X% of the trade
Take Profit 2nd level and close the remaining of the trade
What's next?
I'll publish this script's open-source Pineconnector, ProfitView, and AutoView versions for educational purposes.
Thank you

MACD (Moving Average Convergence/Divergence)
Definition
MACD is an extremely popular indicator used in technical analysis. MACD can be used to identify aspects of a security's overall trend. Most notably these aspects are momentum, as well as trend direction and duration. What makes MACD so informative is that it is actually the combination of two different types of indicators. First, MACD employs two Moving Averages of varying lengths (which are lagging indicators) to identify trend direction and duration. Then, MACD takes the difference in values between those two Moving Averages (MACD Line) and an EMA of those Moving Averages (Signal Line) and plots that difference between the two lines as a histogram which oscillates above and below a center Zero Line. The histogram is used as a good indication of a security's momentum.
MACD Line is a result of taking a longer term EMA and subtracting it from a shorter term EMA.The most commonly used values are 26 days for the longer term EMA and 12 days for the shorter term EMA, but it is the trader's choice.
The Signal Line.
The Signal Line is an EMA of the MACD Line described in Component 1. The trader can choose what period length EMA to use for the Signal Line however 9 is the most common.
The MACD Histogram.
As time advances, the difference between the MACD Line and Signal Line will continually differ. The MACD histogram takes that difference and plots it into an easily readable histogram. The difference between the two lines oscillates around a Zero Line.
A general interpretation of MACD is that when MACD is positive and the histogram value is increasing, then upside momentum is increasing. When MACD is negative and the histogram value is decreasing, then downside momentum is increasing.
What to look for
The MACD indicator is typically good for identifying three types of basic signals; Signal Line Crossovers, Zero Line Crossovers, and Divergence.
SIGNAL LINE CROSSOVERS
A Signal Line Crossover is the most common signal produced by the MACD. First one must consider that the Signal Line is essentially an indicator of an indicator. The Signal Line is calculating the Moving Average of the MACD Line. Therefore the Signal Line lags behind the MACD line. That being said, on the occasions where the MACD Line crosses above or below the Signal Line, that can signify a potentially strong move.
The strength of the move is what determines the duration of Signal Line Crossover. Understanding and being able to analyze move strength, as well as being able to recognize false signals, is a skill that comes with experience.
The first type of Signal Line Crossover to examine is the Bullish Signal Line Crossover. Bullish Signal Line Crossovers occur when the MACD Line crosses above the Signal Line.
The second type of Signal Line Crossover to examine is the Bearish Signal Line Crossover. Bearish Signal Line Crossovers occur when the MACD Line crosses below the Signal Line.
Zero line crossovers
Zero Line Crossovers have a very similar premise to Signal Line Crossovers. Instead of crossing the Signal Line, Zero Line Crossovers occur when the MACD Line crossed the Zero Line and either becomes positive (above 0) or negative (below 0).
The first type of Zero Line Crossover to examine is the Bullish Zero Line Crossover. Bullish Zero Line Crossovers occur when the MACD Line crosses above the Zero Line and go from negative to positive.
The second type of Zero Line Crossover to examine is the Bearish Zero Line Crossover. Bearish Zero Line Crossovers occur when the MACD Line crosses below the Zero Line and go from positive to negative.
Divergence
Divergence is another signal created by the MACD. Simply put, divergence is when the MACD and actual price are not in agreement.
For example, Bullish Divergence occurs when price records a lower low, but the MACD records a higher low. The movement of price can provide evidence of the current trend, however changes in momentum as evidenced by the MACD can sometimes precede a significant reversal.
Bearish Divergence is, of course, the opposite. Bearish Divergence occurs when price records a higher high while the MACD records a lower high.
Summary
What makes the MACD such a valuable tool for technical analysis is that it is almost like two indicators in one. It can help to identify not just trends, but it can measure momentum as well. It takes two separate lagging indicators and adds the aspect of momentum which is much more active or predictive That kind of versatility is why it has been and is used by trader's and analysts across the entire spectrum of finance.
Despite MACD's obvious attributes, just like with any indicator, the trader or analyst needs to exercise caution. There are just some things that MACD doesn't do well which may tempt a trader regardless. Most notably, traders may be tempted into using MACD as a way to find overbought or oversold conditions. This is not a good idea. Remember, MACD is not bound to a range, so what is considered to be highly positive or negative for one instrument may not translate well to a different instrument.
With sufficient time and experience, almost anybody who wants to analyze chart data should be able to make good use out of the MACD.
The added features to the indicator are made for training, it is advisable to use it with caution in tradings.
MACDBB HistoXThis is a custom modified MACD where some parameters have been customized and Bollinger Band added to the MACD . When the MACD is running above its upper Bollinger Band , it will be depicted as lime, and vice versa red.
Then the second set of histograms is am idea of mine where the opposing parameters of MACD signals are deducted off each other to reveal the underlying "momentum" of the MACD .
Hope that these tweaks of a ol'trusty indicator it works for those who are interested! Enjoy!
Parabolic SAR MARSI, Adaptive MACD [Loxx]Parabolic SAR MARSI, Adaptive MACD is a trend following indicator that combines MACD, Parabolic SAR, and RSI into a signal indicator.
What is Parabolic SAR?
The parabolic stop and reverse, more commonly known as the "Parabolic SAR," or "PSAR" is a trend-following indicator developed by J. Welles Wilder. It is displayed as a single parabolic line (or dots) underneath the price bars in an uptrend, and above the price bars in a downtrend.
What is MACD?
Moving average convergence divergence (MACD) is a trend-following momentum indicator that shows the relationship between two moving averages of a security’s price. The MACD is calculated by subtracting the 26-period exponential moving average (EMA) from the 12-period EMA.
What is RSI?
The relative strength index (RSI) is a momentum indicator used in technical analysis that measures the magnitude of recent price changes to evaluate overbought or oversold conditions in the price of a stock or other asset. The RSI is displayed as an oscillator (a line graph that moves between two extremes) and can have a reading from 0 to 100. The indicator was originally developed by J. Welles Wilder Jr. and introduced in his seminal 1978 book, “New Concepts in Technical Trading Systems.”
How to combine PSAR, MACD, and RSI into one:
1. Create a new type of moving average called MARSI. MARSI is like a typical moving average but it flexes to RSI sensitivities
2. Calculate MACD for the MARSI of High/Low values
3. Calculate the midpoint MACD between the High/Low MACDs created in step 2
4. Create a final MACD by calculating the MARSI for the midpoint MACD created in step 3
5. Finally, Inject these values into a customized Parabolic SAR function
Results:
-A unique spin on three different indicators that identifies trends of both RSI, MACD, and price of the underlying asset
-Entry, exit, and reversal points in price, RSI, and MACD
-A MACD that adapts to RSI
What's Included?
-Customization of all variables
-A variety of moving averages to smooth the signal line
-Customizable colors
-Alerts for MACD zero-line and signal crosses, and PSAR trend direction changes
Things to know:
-The histogram in this indicator is NOT the normal histogram found in the classic MACD indicator. The histogram here is a histogram of MACD itself. The classic histogram has questionable utility but the histogram in this indicator is very important and useful
-Parabolic SAR is calculated on the MARSI of High/Low values
Future releases:
-Divergences
-Regular, continuation, and exit signals
Happy trading!
MACD with 1D Stochastic Confirmation Reversal StrategyOverview
The MACD with 1D Stochastic Confirmation Reversal Strategy utilizes MACD indicator in conjunction with 1 day timeframe Stochastic indicators to obtain the high probability short-term trend reversal signals. The main idea is to wait until MACD line crosses up it’s signal line, at the same time Stochastic indicator on 1D time frame shall show the uptrend (will be discussed in methodology) and not to be in the oversold territory. Strategy works on time frames from 30 min to 4 hours and opens only long trades.
Unique Features
Dynamic stop-loss system: Instead of fixed stop-loss level strategy utilizes average true range (ATR) multiplied by user given number subtracted from the position entry price as a dynamic stop loss level.
Configurable Trading Periods: Users can tailor the strategy to specific market windows, adapting to different market conditions.
Higher time frame confirmation: Strategy utilizes 1D Stochastic to establish the major trend and confirm the local reversals with the higher probability.
Trailing take profit level: After reaching the trailing profit activation level scrip activate the trailing of long trade using EMA. More information in methodology.
Methodology
The strategy opens long trade when the following price met the conditions:
MACD line of MACD indicator shall cross over the signal line of MACD indicator.
1D time frame Stochastic’s K line shall be above the D line.
1D time frame Stochastic’s K line value shall be below 80 (not overbought)
When long trade is executed, strategy set the stop-loss level at the price ATR multiplied by user-given value below the entry price. This level is recalculated on every next candle close, adjusting to the current market volatility.
At the same time strategy set up the trailing stop validation level. When the price crosses the level equals entry price plus ATR multiplied by user-given value script starts to trail the price with EMA. If price closes below EMA long trade is closed. When the trailing starts, script prints the label “Trailing Activated”.
Strategy settings
In the inputs window user can setup the following strategy settings:
ATR Stop Loss (by default = 3.25, value multiplied by ATR to be subtracted from position entry price to setup stop loss)
ATR Trailing Profit Activation Level (by default = 4.25, value multiplied by ATR to be added to position entry price to setup trailing profit activation level)
Trailing EMA Length (by default = 20, period for EMA, when price reached trailing profit activation level EMA will stop out of position if price closes below it)
User can choose the optimal parameters during backtesting on certain price chart, in our example we use default settings.
Justification of Methodology
This strategy leverages 2 time frames analysis to have the high probability reversal setups on lower time frame in the direction of the 1D time frame trend. That’s why it’s recommended to use this strategy on 30 min – 4 hours time frames.
To have an approximation of 1D time frame trend strategy utilizes classical Stochastic indicator. The Stochastic Indicator is a momentum oscillator that compares a security's closing price to its price range over a specific period. It's used to identify overbought and oversold conditions. The indicator ranges from 0 to 100, with readings above 80 indicating overbought conditions and readings below 20 indicating oversold conditions.
It consists of two lines:
%K: The main line, calculated using the formula (CurrentClose−LowestLow)/(HighestHigh−LowestLow)×100 . Highest and lowest price taken for 14 periods.
%D: A smoothed moving average of %K, often used as a signal line.
Strategy logic assumes that on 1D time frame it’s uptrend in %K line is above the %D line. Moreover, we can consider long trade only in %K line is below 80. It means that in overbought state the long trade will not be opened due to higher probability of pullback or even major trend reversal. If these conditions are met we are going to our working (lower) time frame.
On the chosen time frame, we remind you that for correct work of this strategy you shall use 30min – 4h time frames, MACD line shall cross over it’s signal line. The MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) is a popular momentum and trend-following indicator used in technical analysis. It helps traders identify changes in the strength, direction, momentum, and duration of a trend in a stock's price.
The MACD consists of three components:
MACD Line: This is the difference between a short-term Exponential Moving Average (EMA) and a long-term EMA, typically calculated as: MACD Line=12-period EMA−26-period
Signal Line: This is a 9-period EMA of the MACD Line, which helps to identify buy or sell signals. When the MACD Line crosses above the Signal Line, it can be a bullish signal (suggesting a buy); when it crosses below, it can be a bearish signal (suggesting a sell).
Histogram: The histogram shows the difference between the MACD Line and the Signal Line, visually representing the momentum of the trend. Positive histogram values indicate increasing bullish momentum, while negative values indicate increasing bearish momentum.
In our script we are interested in only MACD and signal lines. When MACD line crosses signal line there is a high chance that short-term trend reversed to the upside. We use this strategy on 45 min time frame.
ATR is used to adjust the strategy risk management to the current market volatility. If volatility is low, we don’t need the large stop loss to understand the there is a high probability that we made a mistake opening the trade. User can setup the settings ATR Stop Loss and ATR Trailing Profit Activation Level to realize his own risk to reward preferences, but the unique feature of a strategy is that after reaching trailing profit activation level strategy is trying to follow the trend until it is likely to be finished instead of using fixed risk management settings. It allows sometimes to be involved in the large movements.

Fast EMA above Slow EMA with MACD (by Coinrule)An exponential moving average ( EMA ) is a type of moving average (MA) that places a greater weight and significance on the most recent data points. The exponential moving average is also referred to as the exponentially weighted moving average . An exponentially weighted moving average reacts more significantly to recent price changes than a simple moving average simple moving average ( SMA ), which applies an equal weight to all observations in the period.
Moving average convergence divergence ( MACD ) is a trend-following momentum indicator that shows the relationship between two moving averages of a security’s price. The MACD is calculated by subtracting the 26-period exponential moving average ( EMA ) from the 12-period EMA .
The result of that calculation is the MACD line. A nine-day EMA of the MACD called the "signal line," is then plotted on top of the MACD line, which can function as a trigger for buy and sell signals. Traders may buy the coin when the MACD crosses above its signal line and sell—or short—the security when the MACD crosses below the signal line. Moving average convergence divergence ( MACD ) indicators can be interpreted in several ways, but the more common methods are crossovers, divergences, and rapid rises/falls.
The Strategy enters and closes the trade when the following conditions are met:
LONG
The MACD histogram turns bullish
EMA8 is greater than EMA26
EXIT
Price increases 3% trailing
Price decreases 1% trailing
This strategy is back-tested from 1 January 2022 to simulate how the strategy would work in a bear market and provides good returns.
Pairs that produce very strong results include AXSUSDT on the 5-minute timeframe. This short timeframe means that this strategy opens and closes trades regularly.
Additionally, the trailing stop loss and take profit conditions can also be changed to match your needs.
The strategy assumes each order is using 30% of the available coins to make the results more realistic and to simulate you only ran this strategy on 30% of your holdings. A trading fee of 0.1% is also taken into account and is aligned to the base fee applied on Binance.

Dominant Cycle Adaptive MACDThis Indicator is based on classic MACD but with an exceptional smoothing.
This smoothing eliminates the noise of the classic MACD as you see in the Chart
Adaptive MACD is compiled using with two adaptive moving averages, one adaptive to the dominant cycle and the other adaptive to twice the dominant cycle. As the basic behind the MACD is the difference of two moving averages we cannot find much difference between the conventional MACD (12, 26) and the adaptive MACD. However the adaptive MACD is less prone for less whipsaws and it catches the trends very well at the same time the catches the turning points in time. The Adaptive MACD is definite one notch better than the conventional MACD.
Dominant Cycle Period is calculated using Ehler's Method {Mentioned in the code}
This is how the Adaptiveness Impacts the Price Chart
1. (12, 26 EMA) VS Adaptive Dominant Cycle EMA
2. See how the Adaptive Lengths {both FastLength and SlowLength changes with time!}
Enjoy!
Combing in MACD and MTFHi all, I'm trying to wedge in the MACD into a multiple timeframe. Scope is to create:
1) an alert when the MACD across all timeframes is positive,
2) an alert when the MACD across all timeframes is negative, and
3) one when neither of them is applicable.
Would anyone be so kind to give it some thoughts, please?

Koby's 3 average MACD indicatorThis MACD is averaging 3 different MACD; KAMA MACD, ZLEMA MACD, and normal MACD.
Can find easier MACD's divergence and convergence than normal MACD.
And more smoothly drawing than ZLEMA MACD (KZ_MACD) which is I've made before.
