India stocks, rupee, swaps, call at 3:30 p.m. IST
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex SENSEX fell 98.05 points, or 0.13%, to 73,907.89, while the broader NSE index NIFTY gained 24.4 points, or 0.11%, to 22,526.4, amid profit booking after rising earlier in the day, helped by a gain in metal stocks.
RUPEE:
The Indian rupee USDINR strengthened 0.04% versus the U.S. dollar, and quoted at 83.31 per dollar, with traders broadly expecting the rupee to see rangebound price action ahead of the outcome of India's national elections.
GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond (IN071833G=CC) was quoted at 100.72 rupees, with the yield down 2 bps at 7.0705%, as the government is expected to continue infusion cash in the banking system in coming weeks.
OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:
The one-year overnight index swap rate (INRAMONMI1Y=) was down 4 bps at 6.73%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate (INRSMONMI5Y=) fell 4 bps to 6.34%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money (INROND=) rate was up 70 bps at 6.80%. The overnight TREPS rate (INTREPTOT=TCCL) was at 6.75%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.7100%.
