Hello
I am trading forex in Germany but have not found enough information about the tax rules for Forex in Germany. I was wondering if you could tell me what percentage of our profit should be paid as yearly tax. Thank you in advance.

@Verkaas, In Germany, you generally pay 25% final withholding tax. In addition, there is a 1.5% solidarity surcharge.
This all applies to profits from the sale of shares but also forex trading.
I do not know how forex profits are to be taxed abroad. It depends to the country you live.

@Peter_W_Ger, First let me thank you from my heart for answering my question. I live in Germany but have not started trading forex here seriously yet. I have another question. I withrew some money from my trading account a couple of times. This was no profit at all; just my own depoited money. Is this amount also taxable or I shouldnt worry? (I mean should I also pay tax for any withrawal or no, just for the profit I make?)

@Verkaas, tax is due only on profits, not on debits.

@Peter_W_Ger, thank you
