On this day chart, it shows the potential for a repeat of the last major pump that started in April 2017. We can see a volume increase and price rise at a higher rate than the last pump.
I personally really like this coin as I feel it's one of the more useful coins and, if adopted by more people, could literally save humanity. You earn coins by contributing your computing power to science through the use of a computing network called BOINC. A decentralized currency, the coin has a very dedicated team of developers and enthusiasts as well, though it has largely been treated as a shitcoin for some unknown reason (could have been poor documentation in the past, but that has since been remedied by the gridcoin team on their website).
I think the pump on this coin is a few months out but if you run BOINC you can earn GRC buy participating in projects. I agree that it's got a good use case but the way the earnings work benefit people who hold it in a wallet for a certain amount of time. I think that's why there's these pumps every so often.

@neuromancer, Yeah the same holds true for about half the altcoin market. It's such a gamble right now. Either Dec-Jan18 altcoin season was just a very small piece of whats to come next, or we're really never going to see satoshi prices higher than May-August17 for tons of altcoins. The latter seems more likely IMO, but I'm holding a few alts cause the risk/reward is right.

@jaronfitz, I think there's a lot of factors at play. Right now the banks are using the media to scare off investors and governments are worried about losing their economic control so they're imposing regulations. Yet at the same time the CBOE is about to release its ratings of crypto (a first) and plenty of exchanges are still alive and kicking; and we're about a day away from the pre-Chinese New Year pump that seems to happen every year, not to mention the fact that Q1 always sucks no matter what market you're dealing with... I say let's wait and see before being too hasty!
