@GrandMasterTwitch, I personally had negative experience with buying at the bottom. It might take some time to build a base to lift off. All my stock ideas here are pretty much long term spot trades. Not saying it won't work but it didn't for me in this particular context. When the momentum is strong then it's a different story. Good luck.

@johnminnova, A clear increase in volume has good predictive powers (it beats the 65% probability benchmark imho). It can be interpreted as a competition for order fills. To get a directional value from this interpretation one needs to look at the price behavior within the same timeframe. Plus the ease of movement in correlation to the volume size. There are very good books on the subject (e.g. Trades About To Happen" or "Trading in The Shadow of Smart Money" but a little practical staring at the charts can be more beneficial in my meek thinking.
