I would've preferred learning from a teacher if I can afford that! learning from the source like books is good but it take weeks to read and months to apply because everything is scattered and you've to give them a shape while applying & experiencing! But learning from teacher its a quite fast process because you learn quick under a teachers guide & know more things from his experience.
