As a holding pair, it is expected to go up with a positive correlation both for short (within 2 weeks) and long term positions (past few months). Even after the Ethereum updates, Litecoin may expect periods of more stable positive growth due to the fact it is more based off of Bitcoin's infrastructure. Ethereum though is advanced in its own way with smart contracts and its expected focus on proof of stake later on. Overall, though both follow different protocols for mining and are invest-able. Personally, for a long term position, I feel Litecoin can expect better returns if you play your cards right.
