Based on the Bloomberg's special on CVX "Inside Chevron: www.bloomberg.com/ne...pecial-report-06-11- ) and the recent case against EPA - "The U.S. Supreme Court ruling against the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulations on power-plant emissions ": ( www.marketwatch.com/...tural-gas-2015-06-29 ) This may be a good oppertunity to add shares to one of the biggest energy producers. This LNG project may be one of the best bets to power the world with natural gas for 2016. XOM, and other big oil players with more gas exposure may benefit from this ruling short term too.
The one issue I have is that the guy assumed that renewable energy will take forever to get up to speed. "decades for wind and solar to be cheap and plentiful enough to rewrite the world built on fossil fuels." I doubt it will take decades, but in the mean time, buying this stock and collecting those dividends may not be such a bad thing, especially if oil and gas is expected to last as an energy source for decades.
